Patricia's Story
Next month Maria Powell and I will be undertaking this challenge to raise funds for the fabulous SameYou charity. We will be cycling in honour of our dear friend and former colleague Lucy Boyle who sadly suffered a brain aneurysm and died in July 2022. Lucy was a brilliant lawyer with a zest for life. She was a kind and thoughtful friend and, above all, lots of fun to be around. Lucy, Maria and I cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats with Deloitte in consecutive years and Lucy made many friends through cycling. I know we will be channelling Lucy's energy and enthusiasm on our ride and it will see us through. SameYou is a brain injury recovery charity that works to develop better mental health recovery treatment for survivors, raises awareness and advocates for change. We work with powerful partners globally to launch ground-breaking therapies and lead vital research into brain injury that wouldn’t be funded otherwise. SameYou delivers on its mission by piloting recovery innovations that bring immediate benefits to brain injury survivors and their families. A donation will help: Seed fund innovative projects such as NROL Develop a library of self-help resources for survivors and their loved ones Build a global picture of brain injury rehabilitation with our survivor stories Your generosity will help to support the rehabilitation journey for those affected by brain injury and their loved ones.
